This strawberry shortcake trifle is a light and refreshing layered dessert made with fresh strawberries, soft pound cake cubes, whipped topping, and a sweet strawberry glaze. Perfect for summer parties and family gatherings.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups water

2 cups granulated sugar

5 tablespoons cornstarch

1 (3 ounce) package strawberry gelatin mix

2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced

1 1/2 (8 ounce) containers whipped topping

1 (16 ounce) prepared pound cake, cut into cubes

Instructions

1. In a saucepan combine water, sugar, and cornstarch and cook over medium heat while stirring constantly until thickened and boiling.

2. Remove from heat and stir in the strawberry gelatin mix until fully dissolved.

3. Let the strawberry glaze cool slightly.

4. Place half of the sliced strawberries in the bottom of a trifle bowl.

5. Drizzle half of the glaze over the strawberries.

6. Spread half of the whipped topping over the strawberry layer.

7. Add a layer of pound cake cubes.

8. Repeat with the remaining strawberries, glaze, and whipped topping.

9. Refrigerate the trifle for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.

Allow the glaze to cool before layering to keep the whipped topping fluffy.

Serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.
