Soft homemade sourdough bread with a tender crumb, golden crust, and rich flavor from an overnight rise.
1½ cups warm water
1 cup sourdough starter
½ cup corn oil
½ cup sugar
1½ teaspoons salt
6 cups bread flour
1. Mix water, sourdough starter, oil, sugar, and salt.
2. Add bread flour and stir until dough forms.
3. Grease the dough and place it into an oiled bowl.
4. Cover and allow to rise overnight.
5. Grease two loaf pans.
6. Knead dough for 10 minutes.
7. Divide dough into two portions.
8. Place dough into loaf pans.
9. Allow dough to double in size.
10. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
11. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
12. Cool and serve.
Allow the overnight rise for the best flavor.
Store bread at room temperature.
Freeze sliced loaves for longer storage.
