Creamy, cheesy shrimp and grits with crispy bacon and bold Southern flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup stone-ground grits

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

3 tablespoons butter

Salt and black pepper

6 strips bacon

1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup scallions

2 tablespoons parsley

4 teaspoons lemon juice

1 clove garlic

Instructions

1. Cook grits according to package directions

2. Stir in butter and cheese and season

3. Cook bacon until crispy and remove

4. Cook shrimp in bacon drippings

5. Add garlic, scallions, parsley, and lemon juice

6. Return bacon and cook until shrimp are pink

7. Serve shrimp over grits

Notes

Do not overcook shrimp

Keep grits creamy by stirring

Serve immediately for best flavor
