This Hojicha Latte is rich, creamy, and wonderfully comforting. Made with authentic Japanese hojicha powder, steamed oat milk, and optional maple syrup, it’s a cozy café-style drink that’s naturally lower in caffeine and ready in just 5 minutes.
1 teaspoon hojicha powder
60 ml filtered water (175°F / 80°C)
180 ml oat milk
1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)
Extra milk foam for serving (optional)
1. Heat the filtered water to about 175°F (80°C).
2. Add the hojicha powder to a bowl or mug.
3. Pour in the warm water and whisk until completely smooth using a bamboo whisk, milk frother, or spoon.
4. Stir in maple syrup if using.
5. Steam and froth the oat milk until creamy.
6. Slowly pour the warm milk over the whisked hojicha.
7. Top with extra milk foam if desired.
8. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.
Do not use boiling water as it may make the hojicha taste bitter.
Oat milk creates the creamiest texture but almond, soy, or dairy milk also work well.
Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
For a stronger latte, use a little more hojicha powder.
Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and texture.
