These Ground Beef Tacos are juicy, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. Seasoned taco meat, warm tortillas, and fresh toppings create a quick family dinner that everyone loves.
1 pound ground beef (85/15)
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon tomato paste
3 tablespoons taco seasoning
1/2 cup water or beef broth
8 taco shells or tortillas
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 diced tomato
1/2 cup sour cream
1 avocado, sliced
Fresh cilantro

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
3. Add the diced onion and garlic and cook until softened.
4. Drain excess grease if necessary, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan.
5. Stir in the taco seasoning and tomato paste.
6. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
7. Pour in the water or broth and stir well.
8. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the liquid reduces but the meat remains juicy.
9. Warm the taco shells or tortillas.
10. Fill each shell with the taco meat.
11. Top with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, avocado, sour cream, cilantro, and lime juice.
12. Serve immediately while warm.
Use homemade taco seasoning for the best flavor.
Ground turkey or chicken can replace the beef.
Store leftover taco meat in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
