This One-Pan Cheeseburger Rice is one of the easiest ground beef recipes for dinner. Itβs cheesy, hearty, budget-friendly, and made in a single skillet for the perfect busy weeknight meal.
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
2 cups beef broth
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Optional toppings: pickles, green onions, diced tomatoes
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onion. Cook until beef is browned and onion is soft; drain excess grease.
2. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Add uncooked rice, beef broth, tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
4. Bring mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18β20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
5. Remove lid and stir. If needed, cook uncovered for a few extra minutes to reduce excess liquid.
6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover again for 2β3 minutes until melted.
7. Garnish with your favorite cheeseburger toppings and serve warm.
You can swap white rice for brown rice, but increase cook time and broth slightly.
Add diced bell peppers or mushrooms to stretch the meal further.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
