This Cottage Cheese Tzatziki is a creamy, protein-packed twist on the classic Greek dip. Made with blended cottage cheese, cucumber, garlic, fresh mint, dill, and lemon juice, it’s a refreshing appetizer, snack, or side dish that’s ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups cottage cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon dried dill

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups grated cucumber

2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

1. Place the cottage cheese in a tall bowl or liquid measuring cup.

2. Use an immersion blender, food processor, or high-speed blender to blend the cottage cheese until completely smooth.

3. Transfer the blended cottage cheese to a mixing bowl.

4. Stir in the minced garlic, lemon juice, dried dill, and salt.

5. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

6. Grate the cucumber using a box grater.

7. Place the grated cucumber in a fine-mesh sieve and press firmly to remove as much liquid as possible.

8. Add the drained cucumber, chopped mint, and olive oil to the cottage cheese mixture.

9. Stir until everything is evenly combined.

10. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving for even better flavor.

Notes

Squeezing the cucumber thoroughly prevents the dip from becoming watery.

Full-fat cottage cheese creates the creamiest texture, but low-fat cottage cheese also works well.

Fresh dill can replace dried dill for a brighter flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Stir before serving if any liquid separates naturally.

Do not freeze, as the texture may change after thawing.
